About Wolt
Wolt builds products that help communities enjoy more convenience, simplicity, and earning opportunities. What began in 2014 with restaurant delivery has grown into a broader delivery platform operating in more than 500 cities across 30 countries. After joining forces with DoorDash in 2022, the company continues to scale internationally with ambitious growth plans.
Life at Wolt is fast-moving, demanding, and exciting. Team members are expected to learn quickly, take on responsibility, and deliver at a high pace. The environment suits people who are self-driven, entrepreneurial, and energized by building something new.
This position sits within Wolt Market, the company’s grocery retail concept focused on convenience, speed, and a strong customer experience. The store operation in Germany is a key part of the business expansion, and this role has direct influence on how the local market develops.
Role overview
Wolt is hiring a full-time Store Manager to lead one of its Berlin locations. The position offers close support, but also a high level of ownership over daily store performance and operational quality. It is suited to someone who enjoys leading people, working in a changing environment, and helping shape the future of grocery retail.
What you will do
- Lead, develop, and keep a team motivated while building a positive work environment.
- Coach and support 2 to 4 Shift Leads so they can run everyday store operations effectively.
- Make sure the team has the tools and knowledge needed to manage freshness, stock flow, and inventory properly.
- Recruit, onboard, and train team members, while giving regular feedback and conducting twice-yearly one-on-one check-ins to review performance and set goals.
- Work with Operations to improve store processes and maintain smooth, efficient day-to-day execution.
- Take part in internal and external meetings as needed.
- Coordinate with other Wolt teams to ensure the right assortment and product availability in the store.
- Track shrinkage and help reduce food waste.
- Plan and manage staff schedules.
- Receive incoming goods and oversee store ordering.
- Arrange everything the store and team need to support growth, from office supplies and IT equipment to larger infrastructure items such as refrigerators.
What makes you a strong fit
You should bring leadership experience and a clear ability to inspire and guide others. Experience in grocery retail is helpful, and you should be comfortable learning quickly, handling several tasks at once, and working in a hands-on environment. A proactive, service-oriented approach and a strong can-do mindset are important. Since the role involves day, evening, and weekend work, flexibility is required. You should also be comfortable using data and analysis to improve operations. Very good English is needed, and German language skills are a plus.
Working style and environment
This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting where adaptability matters. The role combines people leadership, operational control, and cross-functional collaboration, with regular responsibility for store execution and continuous improvement.
Diversity and inclusion
Wolt says it is committed to building an inclusive workplace and actively welcomes people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. The company believes better ideas and stronger innovation come from giving everyone the chance to contribute and grow.
Application note
Applications are reviewed continuously, so candidates who are interested are encouraged to apply without delay. The company asks applicants to use its official careers channel rather than sending applications by email, in line with data protection requirements.
