Key duties

• Mark out site boundaries and the locations of infrastructure elements with precision.
• Carry out levelling and surveying tasks during the course of the works.
• Work with GPS and total station equipment to maintain measurement accuracy.
• Set out buildings and manage dimensional control on site.
• Handle setting out for site services, including drainage, water mains, and electrical or communications systems.
• Support road and car park works, including reduced level and fill operations.
• Assist with hard and soft landscaping layout and control.
• Monitor health and safety practices and ensure procedures are being followed.
• Record and report hazards, keeping safety logs up to date.
• Coordinate with contractors, operators, and engineering colleagues on site matters.
• Keep relevant stakeholders informed about progress and site developments.
• Work through technical issues with others to find practical solutions.
• Maintain an accurate site logbook and track daily activities.
• Help ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved and communicated clearly.
• Prepare as-built drawings and records in CAD and PDF formats.

Required profile

• Sound knowledge of drawings, specifications, and common construction methods.

• Confidence using CAD to prepare and review as-built documentation.
• A practical approach that can adapt to changing conditions on site.
