Sales Associate

Position objective

As a Sales Associate, you will act as a brand ambassador, drive store sales, and provide a polished customer experience. The role also includes keeping the shop floor well-presented, supporting visual merchandising activities, and handling day-to-day retail tasks assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

Customer service

• Welcome shoppers, understand their needs, and guide them toward suitable products.
• Use proactive engagement to turn browsing visitors into paying customers.
• Present the loyalty program in a way that encourages repeat purchases.
• Follow the GUEST service approach: Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, and Thank.
• Build product knowledge across the group’s brands to support recommendations and add-on selling.
• Explain product details such as features, benefits, materials, and care instructions.

Grooming, attitude, and product knowledge

• Maintain a neat, professional, and brand-appropriate appearance at all times.
• Be prepared to work longer shifts during busy selling periods when required.
• Keep product knowledge current to reduce stock loss and make accurate suggestions to customers.

Merchandising and stock handling

• Arrange merchandise in an appealing way in line with store layout standards.
• Follow visual merchandising requirements and stock control procedures, including for clearance merchandise.
• Track and update stock movement records for items coming in and going out.
• Use upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase sales opportunities.
• Stay familiar with stock levels and ongoing promotions so customer queries can be handled confidently.

Sales process and store operations

• Operate the POS system efficiently for billing and transaction processing.
• Reconcile the cash drawer at both the beginning and end of the shift.
• Handle payments accurately through cash, cards, vouchers, and automatic debits.
• Provide receipts, refunds, and correct change to customers.
• Remain alert to security risks and follow all loss prevention procedures.
• Restock and refresh the sales floor regularly to keep products available.

Desired qualification

A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Prior experience in a sales role is an advantage.
