About the role
Alexandra Hospital in Singapore is looking for a driven Research Assistant or Research Associate to join its health services and clinical research team. The position supports projects across the full research process, from shaping study protocols to sharing results.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate research projects and keep them on track, including ethics submissions and subsequent follow-up.
- Help develop research protocols and prepare study-related documentation.
- Carry out primary data collection such as surveys, interviews, and chart reviews, then enter data, perform basic cleaning, and assist with early-stage analysis.
- Support quantitative and/or qualitative analysis while working under supervision.
- Perform literature searches and reviews, including systematic reviews.
- Assist with writing scientific manuscripts and reports, and help present findings through seminars and presentations.
Additional responsibilities for experienced candidates
- Experience in health economics evaluation, implementation research, AI in health, or health services outcomes research will be a plus.
- Conduct systematic reviews and meta-analyses independently.
- Carry out advanced statistical analysis and interpret research data.
- Contribute to grant applications, including concept notes, methodology sections, and budgets.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in health sciences, public health, life sciences, psychology, social sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 2 years of work experience, preferably in health-related research.
- Working knowledge of Stata, SPSS, and/or NVivo.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
- Exposure to electronic medical records is desirable.
- A publication record, such as authorship on scientific papers, is preferred.
