What you will do
- Design and teach high-quality transdisciplinary units of inquiry that align with the IB PYP framework.
- Create a classroom culture that is inclusive, engaging, student-centred, and supportive of curiosity, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
- Apply a mix of formative and summative assessment methods to track, record, and strengthen student learning.
- Work closely with grade-level teachers and specialist staff to plan, review, and refine units of inquiry.
- Weave the IB learner profile, PYP attitudes, and all five essential elements into day-to-day teaching and learning.
- Encourage student agency, student voice, and international-mindedness across school life.
- Develop strong relationships with parents and involve them meaningfully in their child’s learning experience.
- Take an active role in the wider school community, including events, professional development, and improvement initiatives.
Candidate profile
The successful applicant should bring a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, B.Ed, or an equivalent credential, along with proven experience in an IB PYP school. Strong understanding of the PYP curriculum, units of inquiry, and transdisciplinary learning is essential.
Applicants should also be able to plan and deliver lessons that are engaging, differentiated, and centred on the learner. Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities are important, as is a genuine commitment to reflection and ongoing professional growth.
A strong focus on safeguarding and child welfare is required. IB PYP workshop training is preferred, and prior experience in an international school is also considered desirable.
