Role overview

ADB SAFEGATE is looking for a Project Manager to lead airfield projects in demanding and varied settings. This position is suited to someone who has successfully handled complex project work, can deliver on time, and consistently maintains strong quality and safety standards. The role also involves working from remote project locations and travelling often, depending on project demands.

Key responsibilities

Take charge of the full project lifecycle for airfield systems work, from planning and execution through to final delivery, while keeping everything aligned with company objectives and client expectations.
Direct and coordinate cross-functional teams made up of engineers, contractors, and consultants.
Work closely with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to keep project goals on track.
Prepare and control project budgets, schedules, and resource plans to ensure efficient delivery.
Spot project risks early and put practical mitigation measures in place.
Make sure all work complies with applicable local and international standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Share timely progress updates and detailed reports with senior leadership and stakeholders, including challenges and outcomes.

Required profile

Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a closely related field.
Bring at least 12 years of project management experience, ideally in airfield systems, aviation infrastructure, or similar domains.
Have a solid understanding of airfield systems such as lighting, navigation, communication, and safety systems.
Be comfortable using project management tools and software.
Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Be able to perform well under pressure and adjust quickly to challenging situations.
Communicate fluently in English and French; Arabic proficiency is considered a strong plus.
Be prepared to work at remote project sites for long stretches when required.
Be willing to travel frequently, including on short notice, based on project needs.
Show strong problem-solving ability and sound judgment when making critical decisions in fast-changing environments.
