Role Summary
Petro Service Limited is looking for a Project Estimator to join its Construction team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The person in this role will develop precise, competitive pricing for petroleum construction projects while staying aligned with company standards and client expectations. This position works closely with internal departments and suppliers to produce timely and profitable quotations and to assist with project management-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize incoming quotation requests from customers.
- Examine RFQs, project scopes, drawings, and specification packages in detail.
- Build accurate cost estimates from tender materials and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with sales staff and technical experts to ensure bids meet all compliance needs.
- Record and maintain quotation information in ERP platforms such as GP and Quadra.
- Track submitted bids and support follow-up activities and post-bid analysis.
- Keep estimate-related records organized for audit purposes and future use.
- Monitor market developments and vendor changes relevant to estimating work.
Required Competencies
- A high school diploma is mandatory; a college or university diploma in business or a related discipline is preferred.
- Between 2 and 5 years of experience in estimating or construction is required.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office, with strong Excel capability and familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
- Excellent accuracy, organization, and time-management skills are needed.
- The ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication, along with negotiation skills, is expected.
