Role overview

This is a 6-month casual contract in Perth CBD, with a strong possibility of extension. The position sits with a tier 1 mining company and is focused on a major resource project in Western Australia. The successful candidate will report to the Package Lead and help drive delivery of key process infrastructure packages from the design stage through to execution, collaborating with contractors, engineering groups and wider project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the planning, buying, construction and commissioning phases for process infrastructure works.
  • Help define, develop and track scopes of work for CSMPEI packages and process equipment.
  • Manage interfaces across suppliers, contractors and construction teams to keep delivery aligned.
  • Contribute to procurement tasks such as tender assessments, contract management and progress tracking.
  • Assist with construction oversight to ensure work is carried out in line with project standards and specifications.
  • Work through technical questions, design revisions and non-conformance issues as they arise.
  • Track delivery risks, schedule progress and package outcomes.
  • Take part in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability and Safety in Design reviews.
  • Carry out site inspections and help monitor and report on contractor performance.
  • Support senior team members with reporting on cost, schedule, risk and HSE matters.

Candidate profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar discipline is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in mining, resources or infrastructure projects is expected.
  • Hands-on exposure to process infrastructure such as crushing systems, conveyors, processing plants or related facilities.
  • A solid grasp of project execution, construction processes and contractor management.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, inspection practices and construction compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with good stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Well organised, proactive and capable of solving problems effectively.
