About Us

Foodstuffs New Zealand is a fully New Zealand-owned and operated organisation built around two regional co-operatives and a central centre of excellence. That central team drives national marketing, corporate affairs, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, brand direction, and customer experience work across the business.

The wider Foodstuffs network partners with the business to shape successful brands using customer experience design, practical insights, and high-quality data intelligence.

Precision Media is the company’s retail media division, created to deliver value for customers, suppliers, and the co-operative. The team focuses on building meaningful customer experiences while also helping supplier partners achieve strong commercial outcomes and attractive returns on investment.

About the Role

In this Media Planner position, you will support the expansion of the retail media business by creating and delivering integrated media plans grounded in insight. Your work will connect supplier goals with measurable customer outcomes.

You will work with a high-performing, motivated team to turn strategy into action through commercially focused campaigns across in-store, digital, offsite, and personalised channels.

This is a commercially driven role where you will help turn planning into revenue, spot opportunities for growth, and contribute to team targets while ensuring strong outcomes for customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create integrated media plans and yearly communication roadmaps.
  • Use data and customer insights to build clear, persuasive campaign recommendations.
  • Present media plans to partners and convert opportunities into confirmed bookings.
  • Develop strong working relationships with supplier and agency contacts.
  • Review campaign performance and translate findings into future recommendations.
  • Assist with pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue growth activity.
  • Work closely with teams across media, insights, marketing, and operations.
  • Help shape new media offerings and support service development.

What We Offer

  • Complimentary parking, with more than 1,000 spaces available and EV charging options.
  • Southern Cross health insurance.
  • On-site café with subsidised meals, a mini mart, and a 5% discount in retail stores.
  • Flexible work arrangements, a birthday day off, and long service leave.
  • Internal learning and development programmes, training courses, flu vaccinations, and social groups.

About You

You are a commercially aware, team-oriented media professional who enjoys turning insight into effective campaigns. You are confident working with multiple priorities in a busy environment and can influence others through data, storytelling, and strong relationships.

We are looking for someone who brings experience from media planning, account management, retail media, FMCG, or agency settings, along with a solid understanding of media channels and data-driven marketing. Strong organisation, communication, and stakeholder management skills are important, as is a proactive, analytical approach focused on results.

Additional Information

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of one of New Zealand’s newer media businesses.

The company welcomes applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. If you do not meet every requirement but feel the role could be a good fit, you are still encouraged to apply.

Foodstuffs values diversity and inclusion and welcomes applicants with disabilities, additional health or mental health needs, and neurodiversity. Accessibility support for the recruitment process can be requested by contacting Recruitment.Foodstuffs @foodstuffs.co.nz. Support may include an accessible interview location, a sign language interpreter, or assistive technology.

The recruitment process may use artificial intelligence tools to help review applications, analyse resumes, and assess responses for verification signals or inconsistencies. These tools support the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are made by people. For more information about how data is processed, you may contact the employer.
