A leading European construction solutions provider is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (m/w/d) for a significant project in Munich, Germany.

Role Overview

This position involves overseeing mechanical works on a major data centre build, with responsibility for planning, coordination, supervision, compliance, and collaboration across multiple disciplines to keep site operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Create work plans and allocate tasks across mechanical crews and subcontractors.
• Organise and oversee daily site execution and activity sequencing.
• Guide, supervise, and encourage on-site teams to maintain strong output.
• Ensure correct storage, handling, and installation of mechanical materials and equipment.
• Maintain site safety and ensure adherence to mechanical regulations and permit-controlled processes.
• Direct the installation of mechanical systems such as chillers, air handling units, pumps, and related infrastructure.
• Oversee HVAC, cooling, fire protection, and plumbing works.
• Support the delivery of data centre mechanical systems, including redundancy connections.
• Monitor scope variations, engineering revisions, technical queries, and non-conformance issues.
• Examine work methods and procedures and suggest practical improvements where needed.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve interface issues, control execution, and keep work moving efficiently.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance review of team members.
• Work alongside civil, electrical, and other project teams to ensure integrated delivery.
• Observe site mechanical operations closely and escalate major concerns to senior leadership.
• Partner with Mechanical Leads to review, interpret, and implement design requirements.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in a similar position.
• Prior experience on data centre projects is mandatory.
• Strong planning and organisational capabilities.
• Comfortable working effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with engineering software and IT tools.
• Strong ability to manage priorities and workload efficiently.
• Very good communication skills in Spanish and English.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
