Role Overview

Intel Ireland operates as a major hub for semiconductor production and technology advancement, supporting the creation of advanced process technologies used in Intel products worldwide. The environment is highly automated and high-volume, with a strong focus on safety, innovation, operational excellence, and ongoing improvement.

This position follows a shift-based schedule. Applicants need to be available for a monthly rotating shift pattern, and the exact shift arrangement will be explained later in the interview process.

What You Will Do

In this experienced manufacturing role, you will help run wafer production activities within a large-scale semiconductor facility. The job calls for solid technical ability in equipment upkeep, fault diagnosis, and production support, while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

• Carry out tasks across wafer production, including manufacturing work, equipment support, and process-related duties.
• Assist with the operation of equipment in the manufacturing area so safety, quality, output, and cost goals are achieved.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment in a regulated setting.
• Diagnose equipment and process problems, complete repairs, and contribute to reducing defects.
• Work from manuals, specifications, drawings, diagrams, schematics, and spoken guidance to complete assignments accurately.
• Use structured problem-solving methods together with suitable tools and test equipment to resolve production and equipment issues.
• Support the installation, repair, operation, and performance enhancement of manufacturing equipment.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to fix technical issues and improve equipment reliability.
• Contribute to operational and maintenance improvements in your assigned area.
• Help build a team culture rooted in inclusion, diversity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Be prepared to travel on assignment when business needs require it, sometimes for varying periods.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a relevant technical qualification in an approved science or engineering field. This may include, but is not limited to, one of the following:

• NFQ Level 6 or Level 7 qualification in a technical discipline, or a recognised trade qualification in Electrical, Plumbing, or Instrumentation.
• At least 4 years of experience in technical manufacturing, including semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or medical device environments.
• At least 4 years of practical preventive and corrective maintenance experience in a regulated environment.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operation in a regulated environment.

• Ability to troubleshoot using schematics and complex diagrams.
• Experience supporting a workplace culture centered on continuous improvement.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing practices, including high-precision maintenance and smart workplace organization.
• Experience maintaining vacuum systems, precision mechanical equipment, or RF systems.

Job Information

This is an experienced hire position and is based on-site in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland. The shift designation is Shift 1 A (Ireland). The role sits within Intel Foundry, which supports advanced semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, yield improvement, and final test and assembly for customers worldwide.

Compensation and Benefits

The role is part of Intel's total compensation structure. For Ireland, the annual salary range for this position is €39,800 to €62,200. Final pay is determined by relevant skills, experience, education, and training. The overall offer may also include shift-related pay elements and benefits, which will be confirmed at the time of offer.
