Role overview

As Manager (m/f/x) Business Development, you will focus on selling clinical and development opportunities. The role centers on creating and executing new sales approaches while building strong relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the company.

What you will do

  • Find new prospects, run cold outreach campaigns for target accounts, and work with the Business Development Executive team to establish outbound prospecting workflows.
  • Coordinate, guide, and oversee sales and business activities for assigned customers together with management.
  • Lead negotiations for contract manufacturing, clinical development, formulation, and packaging services.
  • Develop and sustain long-term relationships with customers.
  • Prepare and present business proposals that move from development to commercial production, including opportunities to combine services strategically.
  • Spot new markets, business opportunities, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • Represent the company at trade fairs, conferences, and seminars to expand visibility and generate leads.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Research & Development on projects, especially around market research and sales promotion.
  • Act as a proactive, technically informed, customer-focused bridge between the client and Simtra Commercial teams to ensure a strong customer experience.

What you bring

  • A completed degree in chemistry, industrial engineering, or another natural sciences discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role.
  • Background in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare sector, preferably with exposure to Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC) or contract manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in process development or commercial manufacturing in the sterile injectable area is considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A high degree of initiative, structure, self-management, and a practical hands-on approach.
  • Business-level fluency in English.
  • Willingness to travel 30% to 50% of the time.
