About the Role
As the Licensing Manager, you will oversee and coordinate licensing work for the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority. The position focuses on evaluating applications, renewals, amendments, and periodic reviews in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policy requirements, and regulatory standards. You will help maintain a transparent, risk-based licensing system that safeguards the integrity of the gaming sector and encourages strong standards of honesty, compliance, and responsible conduct.
What You Will Do
- Handle licensing queries and ensure each one is tracked through to closure.
- Run the full licensing workflow for applicants and licensees, covering new applications, renewals, changes, suspensions, and revocations where relevant.
- Examine submissions to confirm they are complete, accurate, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Work with Suitability Investigations on information handling and coordination.
- Create, update, and improve licensing policies, procedures, guidance materials, templates, and service standards.
- Prepare clear, fact-based recommendations and reports for governance forums, committees, and senior leaders.
- Collaborate with internal departments, regulated businesses, government agencies, law enforcement, and other regulators as needed.
- Offer timely advice to applicants and licensees on licensing criteria, processes, and regulatory obligations.
- Keep precise records, dashboards, and management information to support oversight, reporting, and audit preparedness.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes and help build a licensing framework that is efficient, defensible, and risk-focused.
- Assist with team training, capability building, and quality assurance when required.
- Attend regular meetings with licensees for relationship management and status updates.
- Support the administration of licensing portals and ongoing platform improvements.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Criminology, or a similar field, or comparable practical experience.
- Substantial experience in licensing, regulatory compliance, account management, or another related regulatory role.
- Experience in the gaming industry or a similarly tightly regulated sector is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, due diligence, and administrative decision-making.
- Background in drafting reports, policies, procedures, and formal recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Ability to handle complex casework, competing deadlines, and confidential information with good judgment.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to explain complex regulatory topics in a clear way.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to make balanced, evidence-based decisions.
