Role Overview

The Mastercard Foundation Asset Management (MFAM) team is hiring an Information Technology Analyst to help shape and support a growing investment management environment in Toronto. This is a brand-new role in a newly established organization, and it is based in the office four days per week.

About the Organization

MFAM was launched in 2023 to manage a diversified investment portfolio for the Mastercard Foundation. Headquartered in Toronto, the firm follows a global investment approach designed to generate long-term returns that support the Foundation’s philanthropic work in Africa and Canada. The team values bold thinking, curiosity, persistence, and a lean, merit-based culture.

The Mastercard Foundation is one of the world’s largest foundations, focused on expanding education and financial inclusion so that young people in Africa and Indigenous youth in Canada can access meaningful work. It operates independently from Mastercard and has offices in multiple cities across Africa and North America.

What You Will Do

You will work closely with the Senior Manager, Information Technology and collaborate with colleagues across MFAM, the Foundation, consultants, and external vendors. In this hands-on role, you will support the organization’s technology environment across user support, business applications, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.

  • Provide timely, high-quality support for end-user technology issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems related to hardware, software, and network access, involving vendors when needed.
  • Handle the employee technology journey, including onboarding, offboarding, and access setup.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 tools such as Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Create documentation and encourage better practices that improve the user experience.
  • Look for opportunities to streamline and improve technology operations.
  • Support cloud services, networks, and other core infrastructure components.
  • Track system health and reliability, and help address infrastructure issues.
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades and new capabilities that align with the technology roadmap.
  • Work with internal and external partners to keep platforms running effectively.
  • Translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
  • Support and improve applications such as CRM and deal pipeline tools through configuration and workflow enhancements.
  • Gather requirements, test changes, and coordinate delivery of system updates.
  • Maintain data quality in supported applications and partner with Data & Analytics teams as needed.
  • Develop training resources and help onboard users to new tools.
  • Improve workflows that support investment operations.
  • Help implement and operate cybersecurity controls across systems and endpoints.
  • Monitor security alerts, investigate phishing attempts, and assist with incident response.
  • Support identity and access management, including permissions and multi-factor authentication.
  • Contribute to vendor risk management activities.
  • Promote security awareness and support adherence to IT policies.
  • Work with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and maintain service quality.
  • Support vendor evaluation, onboarding, and performance tracking.
  • Assist with licensing, renewals, and other procurement-related tasks.
  • Maintain the IT asset inventory and support device and system lifecycle management.
  • Factor change management into technology initiatives by considering user, workflow, and process impacts.
