Role overview
Honigman LLP is hiring two graphic designers, one at the Graphic Designer I level and one at the Graphic Designer II level, to join its Business Development/Marketing team in either Detroit or Chicago. In this role, you will support the Design Center by producing polished, brand-aligned creative work that advances the firm’s business and marketing objectives. The position calls for a detail-oriented, collaborative designer who can manage priorities effectively and contribute across teams.
What you will do
- Create a wide variety of visual materials for both internal and external audiences, such as presentations, reports, proposals, infographics, email layouts, website graphics, social media assets, and event collateral.
- Apply the firm’s brand standards consistently so that every deliverable feels cohesive across channels.
- Support marketing initiatives by developing visuals that are tailored to the intended audience and campaign goals.
- Partner with marketing, communications, and business development colleagues to understand needs and turn them into effective design outputs.
- Work with Design Center teammates and other stakeholders to review concepts, refine ideas, and improve final deliverables.
- Prepare artwork and files for digital and print production, ensuring they are properly formatted for handoff.
- Keep design libraries, templates, and other assets organized so they remain easy to find and reuse.
- Help triage incoming design requests and manage job file administration.
- Contribute ideas that strengthen and evolve the firm’s visual identity while staying within brand guidelines.
- Assist with quality checks to make sure all materials meet brand and production standards.
- Handle several assignments at the same time and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Act quickly on feedback and make revisions as needed.
- Support the development of workflows, systems, and processes that improve the design pipeline.
- Work with the team to maintain the Digital Asset Management tool and ensure assets are used and stored correctly.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related discipline, or an equivalent background, is required.
- Graphic Designer I candidates should have 2 to 3 years of professional design experience; internships or freelance work may be counted toward this.
- Graphic Designer II candidates should have at least 5 years of professional design experience; internships or freelance work may be counted toward this.
- Experience in a corporate or professional services setting is helpful.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Adobe Express.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to build corporate documents.
- Exposure to web design tools and basic HTML/CSS is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency with Premiere Pro is expected.
- Comfort working with digital asset management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering accurate, polished work.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to feedback and a willingness to keep learning.

Compensation and benefits
The firm offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes health and wellness coverage, 401(k), and profit sharing. The expected annual salary for Graphic Designer I is $60,000 to $72,000. For Graphic Designer II, the expected annual salary is $70,000 to $80,000. Final pay will depend on factors such as skills, experience, location, education, market conditions, and internal equity.
