About the company
Qualcomm Middle East Information Technology Company LLC is expanding its presence in Riyadh to support the region’s growing data centre and infrastructure needs. The organization is investing in advanced computing capabilities to strengthen AI, cloud, and connectivity services at scale, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 digital transformation goals.
Role overview
This position is for a Full-Stack Machine Learning Engineer who will connect AI application development with AI platform engineering for Qualcomm’s AI Inference Suite and rack-scale data centre deployments. The role focuses on building, delivering, and maintaining complete AI services, agent-driven workflows, and fine-tuning pipelines, while also enabling automation, orchestration, and observability across large-scale environments.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and tune API layers that serve AI inference workloads with strong attention to model and hardware efficiency.
- Create agent-based workflows and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines using tools such as LangChain and crew.ai.
- Build production-ready bring-your-own-model and fine-tuning flows covering data ingestion, orchestration, evaluation, and deployment.
- Integrate with LLM runtimes such as vLLM, Dynamo, and llm-d, and apply inference optimisation methods.
- Contribute to SDKs, CLI tools, and reference applications across Python, TypeScript, Java, and Rust.
- Design and support cluster management software for provisioning, orchestration, and monitoring of AI environments.
- Implement telemetry and observability using Redfish/IPMI for out-of-band management and Prometheus/OpenTelemetry for in-band monitoring.
- Build infrastructure-as-code workflows with MAAS, Terraform, and Ansible for bare-metal and container-based deployments.
- Enable Kubernetes and Helm-based orchestration for inference clusters and multi-tenant setups.
- Create dashboards for rack health, asset inventory, and SLA tracking.
- Keep up with developments in GenAI, rack-scale AI orchestration, and modern data centre practices.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in ML or HPC environments.
- Strong coding ability in Python, Rust or Go, and TypeScript, with solid software engineering fundamentals.
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and high-performance computing.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus/OpenTelemetry, and Ansible/Terraform.
- Hands-on familiarity with LLM runtimes, agent frameworks, and rack-scale orchestration.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related area.
- Experience building inference and fine-tuning pipelines along with agentic workflows.
- Knowledge of data centre lifecycle management, Redfish/IPMI, and MAAS/OpenStack.
- Exposure to scale-up networking technologies such as RoCE, RDMA, and NVLink.
- Prior contribution to inference or GenAI performance optimisation efforts.
What’s on offer
- Compensation package that includes housing and transport allowance.
- RSUs and performance-based bonus.
- 16 weeks of fully paid maternity leave.
- 6 weeks of fully paid paternity leave.
- Employee stock purchase scheme.
- Child education allowance.
- Relocation and immigration assistance, if required.
- Life insurance and medical insurance.
- Live+ Well reimbursement for health and recreational membership fees.
