About the role

Banyule City Council is looking for a practical, well-organised and service-oriented Fleet Workshop Support Officer to help run the day-to-day operations of its fleet and workshop function. This position is important to keeping Council vehicles, plant and equipment appropriately managed, compliant and available to support services across the municipality.

You will work alongside mechanics, fleet personnel and other internal teams, contributing administrative, coordination and operational assistance so the fleet workshop runs smoothly and safely.

Role overview

Based with the Fleet Team at the Operations Depot in Bellfield, you will provide administrative, compliance and systems support to strengthen governance, control effectiveness and adherence to the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility (CoR).

Key duties

  • Deliver administrative and operational assistance to the Fleet Workshop.
  • Help coordinate schedules, maintain records and manage fleet-related data.
  • Work with internal clients, suppliers and contractors.
  • Support compliance work such as servicing, inspections and documentation management.
  • Assist with purchasing, invoicing and coordinating stock and parts.
  • Help maintain a safe, tidy and customer-focused workshop environment.

Salary and benefits

The annual salary range is $76,745.19 to $80,983.71, plus superannuation, depending on experience.
