Financial Sales Manager

Position Overview

The Financial Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sports complex’s financial activities and revenue-producing efforts. The role focuses on strong budget control, reliable reporting, and meeting income targets through memberships, sponsorships, rentals, and events. It also involves improving efficiency, supporting fiscal responsibility, and helping grow overall profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, track, and oversee the annual operating budget.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, and variance reports.
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll workflows.
• Maintain financial records for the complex and ensure compliance with accounting rules and financial policies.
• Create and execute plans to grow revenue from memberships, sponsorships, rentals, and programs while coordinating client relationships and marketing efforts.
• Develop financial reports, forecasts, and cost-recovery analyses, then present actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Review cost-reduction opportunities and possible investment options.
• Lead assigned staff, conduct evaluations, and provide training and guidance.
• Support compliance with municipal rules, purchasing procedures, and audit expectations, while helping improve long-term financial planning and internal processes.
• Work with city departments, vendors, community partners, and the Superintendent.
• Represent the complex at meetings and public events.
• Carry out other related duties as needed.

Knowledge and Skills

The role calls for solid understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue development across memberships, sponsorships, rentals, and events. It also requires leadership capability and the ability to direct staff effectively.

Working Conditions

This position may involve occasional exposure to difficult environmental conditions or hazards and occasional outdoor work. Physical demands include lifting or moving objects with up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly. Work settings may include office environments, vehicles, outdoor areas, and, rarely, construction sites, street environments near traffic, or confined spaces. Exposure may occasionally include hostile individuals, extreme heat, loud noise, communicable diseases, and moving mechanical parts, while rare exposure may occur to violent individuals, extreme cold, fumes, or toxic substances.

Travel

The job requires local travel on a frequent basis, with regional and national travel occurring rarely. International travel is not expected.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field is required. Candidates must also have at least five years of experience in finance, business administration, public administration, or a related area. Accreditation must be from an institution recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Licenses and Certifications

A valid Texas Driver License is required. If the applicant currently holds an out-of-state license, a Texas license must be obtained within six months of employment.

Additional Requirements and Conditions
