Role overview

The Driver role reports to the Director of Operations or a designated manager. The core purpose of the job is to handle customer information across different media formats and to operate company vehicles with care, judgment, and strict compliance with transportation regulations and internal policies.

Key duties

Operate vans or box trucks to reach customer sites and complete service-related trips.
Arrive on time and ready to begin work each day.
Maintain the productivity and quality levels expected by the department.
Receive instructions, understand them clearly, and act on them appropriately.
Work directly with customers to support service requests.
Take on additional tasks as assigned by a supervisor or the DOO.
During severe weather, report two hours earlier than the normal start time to account for delays and, if needed, install tire chains on company vehicles.

Skills and working style

The ideal candidate stays positive and respectful, adapts quickly when customer needs change, and brings a strong sense of organization and attention to detail. The role also calls for someone who can perform well both independently and as part of a team, follow company procedures consistently, stay self-driven, and remain effective under pressure. Familiarity with city streets or the ability to read a city map is important, along with comfort using handheld devices, electric pickers, vans, and box trucks.

Work environment and physical demands

This position requires tolerance for seasonal temperature extremes, including summer heat and winter cold. The work involves frequent standing and walking, with occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The employee must be able to reach, handle, carry, and lift between 10 lbs and 50 lbs. Regular duties also require speaking, hearing, reading, and accurately identifying numbers for order filling and material receiving.

Education, checks, and eligibility

High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
Valid driver’s license.
Motor vehicle record review.
Background screening.
Ability to pass random drug tests.
Must be able to keep a cell phone with them for constant contact with the Records Center.
Strong focus on accuracy and work quality.
Availability for overtime and round-the-clock scheduling, including holidays.
Good directional sense and navigation skills.
Commercial driver’s license, where required.
