Drive Thru Team Member

Role overview

Mitre 10 MEGA Prestons is expanding and is seeking an experienced Drive Thru Team Member to become part of the team. This role sits at the centre of the Drive Thru operation, where you will support trade and DIY customers with timely, friendly service while helping keep the yard safe, orderly and productive.

The position involves handling a range of building and outdoor products such as timber, landscaping supplies, concrete and other construction materials. The ideal person will be confident operating a forklift, understand building supplies well, and enjoy working directly with customers in a busy environment.

What the role involves

• Deliver helpful, professional service to both trade and retail customers
• Pick customer orders accurately and load purchases safely
• Operate forklifts and other yard machinery in a safe manner
• Handle point-of-sale transactions and trade account sales
• Keep the Drive Thru area and yard clean, organised and safe
• Support stock replenishment and inventory-related tasks
• Work closely with other team members to keep operations running smoothly

What you need to bring

• A current forklift licence together with proven forklift experience
• Practical knowledge of building materials and landscaping products
• Retail or customer service background, with trade or building-supply experience seen as an advantage
• Strong communication skills and a genuine customer-first attitude
• A clear commitment to health and safety
• Physical fitness and comfort with manual handling duties
• A dependable, hardworking approach and the ability to perform well in a fast-moving setting

Employment details

This is a full-time permanent role based onsite in Canterbury, New Zealand. The roster is fixed and includes one weekend day each week, along with one to two closing shifts per week finishing at 7:00pm.
