Role Overview

CoolIT Systems is hiring an experienced Custodian for its Calgary facilities team. The position focuses on keeping the workplace clean, orderly, and safe for employees and visitors by carrying out routine cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily opening tasks for the building, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning floors in hallways, offices, and shared spaces.
• Remove waste from bins and place it in the proper disposal locations.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
• Refill restroom and cleaning supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
• Dust and wipe down furniture, windows, and fixtures.
• Arrange and clear furniture and equipment for meetings or events.
• Escalate repair needs or visible damage to the supervisor.
• Operate floor-cleaning equipment regularly in production floor areas.
• Follow safety procedures at all times and use cleaning chemicals correctly.
• Handle minor repairs or help with basic facility upkeep when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Working knowledge of cleaning products, methods, and equipment.
• Ability to work on your own and follow given instructions.
• Physical capability to stand, bend, lift up to 30 lbs, and repeat tasks throughout the shift.
• Dependable attendance and consistent punctuality.

Preferred Background

Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a commercial or industrial environment is preferred.

Skills Needed

The role calls for strong attention to detail, solid time management, good organization, physical stamina, manual handling ability, and the flexibility to work both independently and alongside others.
