Cleaner/Housekeeper

Role overview

Amey is hiring an on-site Cleaner/Housekeeper for HMP Leicester. The position is part of the wider support Amey provides to His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), helping keep prison facilities safe, clean, and operating efficiently. The role sits within a long-term facilities management contract supporting secure sites across England and Wales.

Working hours and pay

This is a full-time role with standard hours of 39 per week, Monday to Friday. The annual salary for the position is £27,426.

Key duties

• Deliver cleaning services in line with contract expectations and service standards.
• Monitor stock and arrange replenishment of consumables when needed.
• Use cleaning machinery safely and follow all provided instructions and training.
• Maintain a consistently high level of service for building users and support customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to local and wider zero-carbon initiatives where appropriate, working in an efficient and strategic way.
• Help ensure health and safety standards are met across the contract.

Additional requirements

Prison Security Clearance is required for this role, and Amey will support the successful candidate through the process.
