Role overview

This position is for an independent cleaner responsible for keeping assigned areas clean and well maintained. You will deliver an efficient cleaning service across the spaces allocated to you, working to health and safety standards and following group policies and procedures at all times.

You will also handle cleaning chemicals and substances carefully, making sure they are used safely and mixed to the correct ratios. At the end of each shift, you will clean and store equipment properly so it is ready for the next colleague. If any issue, incident or concern arises, you will need to report it to the appropriate team and take suitable action where needed.

What the role involves

• Carry out cleaning duties across the areas assigned to you.
• Work on your own while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
• Follow all health and safety requirements, along with internal policies and procedures.
• Use chemicals and cleaning substances safely and in the correct proportions.
• Make sure equipment is cleaned and stored securely at the end of each shift.
• Escalate problems or incidents to the relevant team and respond appropriately.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you should bring solid experience in cleaning and a sound understanding of COSHH rules for the safe use of chemicals in public settings. Because the role is carried out independently, you will need excellent organisation and the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload. As a representative of Places Leisure, you must always present yourself in a professional and approachable manner.
