About the role

This is a senior operational leadership position at MAGIC AI, focused on building and running the systems that keep the business moving. The role sits at the centre of supply chain, people operations, legal coordination, and cross-functional execution, ensuring the company can scale its connected hardware and AI product across the UK and US without operational bottlenecks.

The business is expanding quickly across both sides of the Atlantic, and the CEO is looking for a strong operator to take ownership of the day-to-day engine that translates strategy into delivery, protects margins, and keeps product and growth moving in step.

Key mandate

You will hold end-to-end accountability for margin performance and work closely with the CMO and CFO to support higher-margin targets. The role is built around four major areas of ownership.

Supply chain, logistics and 3PL

  • Own the full supply chain cycle, including manufacturing, freight, customs, dual-region third-party logistics, and landed-cost economics across the UK and US.
  • Shape supply chain strategy and the supporting systems, including ERP implementation.
  • Lead international freight planning and execution.
  • Review and take charge of UK warehouse and 3PL processes.
  • Audit and improve the US 3PL setup, freight arrangements, and operational tax structure.
  • Design and manage reverse logistics, including returns handling, grading, and restock flows.

Inventory management and operational finance

  • Act as the operational partner to the CFO and Head of Finance, converting the financial plan into purchasing activity and feeding inventory realities back into planning.
  • Own sales and operations planning, demand modelling, and ordering cadence.
  • Maintain full accountability for inventory accuracy.
  • Produce reporting on COGS, gross margin, and operational finance performance.
  • Support investor-facing margin analysis and external audit work.

People operations and legal

  • Oversee people operations, hiring infrastructure, and external legal support across UK and US entities.
  • Manage compensation bands, performance review cycles, and employment compliance in both markets.
  • Support US entity formation and corporate tax setup.
  • Coordinate commercial, IP, employment, regulatory, and product compliance matters through external counsel.

Operating cadence and cross-functional execution

  • Run the company’s operating rhythm, including weekly metrics reviews, quarterly planning, OKRs, and executive meetings.
  • Act as the go-to problem solver when issues are blocked between teams or functions.
  • Help ensure delivery stays on schedule and that cross-functional blockers are resolved quickly.

Success measures

Your performance will be judged by the speed and quality of decisions, the number of blockers removed, and consistent on-time delivery of quarterly priorities.

Must-have requirements

  • 10 to 15+ years of operating experience, including senior leadership in a scaling consumer hardware or DTC business, ideally handling large, heavy, high-value products.
  • Direct responsibility for international supply chains, preferably spanning UK, US, and Asian manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience sourcing and managing warehousing, 3PL, and delivery partners in both the UK and the US.
  • Proven ability to build or completely redesign a sales and operations planning or inventory planning process from the ground up.
  • Strong commercial and financial judgement, with the ability to challenge CFO models and understand the operational drivers behind them.
  • Experience managing people operations and external legal work across multiple jurisdictions.
  • High ownership, low ego, and strong written communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Background in connected fitness, wearables, or AI hardware.
  • Experience through a Series A to B to C scaling journey.
  • Existing relationships with UK and US 3PL providers or freight forwarders.

Benefits and perks

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Equity share options.
  • Direct impact from day one on a fast-scaling business.
  • Unlimited holiday with self-directed time off.
  • Flexible home and hybrid working from the London headquarters, with at least 2 days of work from home each week.
  • Hardware budget for a new MacBook or similar equipment.
  • Professional learning and development budget.
  • Weekly free lunch club.
  • Unlimited daily barista coffee.
  • Quarterly off-sites and regular team social events.

Additional information
