Role overview
Service Foods is seeking an energetic and engaging Business Development Manager to join the Tauriko, Tauranga team. This is a newly established position designed to help expand the company’s customer footprint across the Bay of Plenty region. The role suits someone who enjoys being out in the field, meeting clients directly, and turning relationships into measurable growth.
Most of the work will be customer-facing and on the road, with some time spent at the Tauranga branch for internal coordination and administrative tasks. This is not a remote position, and there may be occasional weekend phone availability required.
What you will do
- Develop a small existing customer base into a larger and more active portfolio.
- Follow a regular calling schedule to keep customer service levels strong.
- Spot new sales opportunities and convert prospects into long-term accounts.
- Handle negotiation and closing of deals while consistently working toward sales targets.
- Work closely with Procurement and Warehouse teams so supply matches customer demand.
- Create practical, tailored solutions that align with each customer’s needs.

- Demonstrated background in sales, preferably within food service or hospitality.

- Comfort using Microsoft Office; Salesforce knowledge is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation.
- A tertiary qualification is preferred.
- Understanding of the food service sector is beneficial.
