AV Design Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an AV Design Engineer in Doha, Qatar to handle end-to-end audiovisual design documentation and coordination for project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of preparing and submitting shop drawings.
• Review tender documents and RFQ packages to understand project scope and requirements.
• Develop detailed bills of quantities for AV systems.
• Produce comprehensive schematic designs for the systems.
• Support project execution through coordination meetings and technical assistance to the project team.
• Compile periodic progress updates such as monthly and annual reports, along with drawing logs.
• Examine system proposals as assigned through delegated design reviews.
• Share knowledge with design staff and draughtsmen to strengthen productivity and workflow.
• Deliver training sessions to Techno Q team members on selected subject areas.
• Apply and maintain the company’s quality management practices.

Qualifications and Technical Background

• A bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, or a closely related discipline is required.
• At least 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in AV system design, ideally within a consultancy or systems integration setting.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, and similar design and documentation tools is expected.
• Solid understanding of AV standards, signal formats, and integrated system architecture is important.
• Familiarity with control and DSP ecosystems such as Crestron, AMX, Extron, QSC, and Biamp is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with accurate documentation ability, are needed.
• AVIXA or CTS-D certification is required/preferred as part of the profile.
• The role calls for someone who can manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines effectively.
• Good analytical thinking and troubleshooting ability are essential.
