Associate Director

Overview

The Regulatory and Risk Advisory (RRA) team within Corporate Treasury supports Middle East clients with a broad set of treasury advisory services. This includes leading transformation initiatives, reworking treasury strategies and policies, defining target operating models, improving cash and liquidity processes, advising on hedging approaches, and guiding treasury system selection and implementation.

Role summary

In this Associate Director position, you will take a senior leadership role in setting direction, steering client transformation programmes, and ensuring delivery against complex objectives. You will manage client relationships, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and oversee large-scale engagements while contributing fresh ideas and long-term value for clients.

What you will do

• Help grow the corporate treasury practice by strengthening capabilities, developing new solutions, and supporting revenue growth.
• Advise CFOs and Group Treasurers on strategic matters and help influence major treasury investment decisions and transformation plans.
• Support business generation by leading pitches, preparing proposals, and converting opportunities into active client work.
• Lead market-facing initiatives, build compelling service propositions, and contribute to thought leadership that raises the practice’s profile.
• Track changes in treasury trends, regulation, and market developments, then turn those insights into practical client solutions.
• Manage complex client assignments end to end, maintaining delivery quality, risk control, and alignment with business goals.

The ideal candidate is a confident leader with strong corporate treasury expertise and a proven record of guiding teams, shaping strategy, and delivering high-impact treasury programmes.

Requirements

• Strong grasp of corporate treasury concepts, including in-house banks, payment factories, POBO/COBO, cash pooling, liquidity forecasting, FX processes, and bank connectivity.
• Proven experience delivering treasury transformation work such as target operating model design, cash management, IHB, payment factory, liquidity forecasting, banking strategy, or TMS implementation.
• Solid knowledge of treasury platforms and prior involvement in system selection and implementation, including Kyriba, FIS, SAP HANA, and GTreasury.
• Background in financial modelling and financial risk management.
• Good understanding of treasury product pricing and accounting treatment.
• Ability to stay effective under pressure and lead teams through demanding, complex environments.
• Capability to translate client business needs into practical and commercially viable proposals.
• Commercial mindset with experience in business development, RFP responses, and client relationship management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication skills with client-facing experience.
• High standards of integrity, sound judgement, strong values, and the ability to lead by example.

Qualifications

• More than 10 years of experience in corporate treasury or advisory roles within a leading financial institution or consulting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Finance or Accounting is required at minimum.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, or CFA.
• Strong quantitative ability and advanced financial modelling skills.
• Experience with analytical and treasury systems such as Kyriba, FIS, SAP HANA, GTreasury, or ION.
• Fluency in English; Arabic or another regional language is an advantage.
