Role overview
This is a full-time leadership position responsible for the overall performance and everyday operation of the club. The role sets the standard for excellence across sales, service, and operations, while driving commercial results and ensuring every member receives a high-quality experience on every visit.
As the public face of the gym, you will lead from the front on the gym floor and at reception, maintain strong standards across all areas, and motivate the team to achieve consistently strong outcomes. You will be expected to bring a detail-focused, solutions-led approach and take full ownership of KPIs, staff development, and day-to-day operational consistency.
What the role involves
- Recruit, coach, and develop a strong team, while providing regular and constructive feedback to help each person perform at their best.
- Take responsibility for all revenue streams, including memberships, personal training, and secondary spend, with a focus on improving overall profitability.
- Build a welcoming, lively, and premium atmosphere that improves every member interaction.
- Oversee sales and operational activities, making sure company standards and central programmes are delivered to a very high level.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards at all times, regardless of whether you are on shift.
- Respond quickly to challenges, adapt to change, and support the team in finding effective solutions.
- Manage compliance, policies, procedures, health and safety, and pool plant operations in line with required guidelines.
What you need to bring
- Genuine enthusiasm for health, fitness, and wellbeing.
- A Level 2 fitness qualification is desirable.
- Strong leadership ability, with the flexibility to adjust communication and management style to different situations.
- A member-focused approach, supported by excellent interpersonal skills.
- Commercial understanding and a strong drive to surpass targets.
- A positive, ambitious, and resilient attitude when facing challenges.
- Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
