Role Overview
The Area Manager will be responsible for managing the performance of all Material Depot Experience Centres in Hyderabad. The position focuses on improving revenue, keeping store operations efficient, upholding store presentation standards, and guiding Store Managers and their teams.
This role suits someone with strong experience handling multiple stores, solid people leadership capabilities, and a history of improving store outcomes through disciplined management and operational rigor.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve revenue and overall business performance across multiple Experience Centres in Hyderabad.
- Guide, develop, and support Store Managers and their teams to raise productivity and strengthen customer experience.
- Carry out regular business reviews and performance discussions with Store Managers.
- Track core retail metrics such as revenue, footfall, conversion rate, average order value, ticket size, customer satisfaction, and repeat purchases.
- Maintain strong standards across all stores for upkeep, visual merchandising, cleanliness, and brand adherence.
- Review staffing levels, attendance, productivity, and team performance on a consistent basis.
- Work with the marketing team to increase walk-ins and support local activation activities.
- Resolve significant customer issues and operational escalations.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, audits, inventory checks, and operating procedures.
- Identify stores that are not meeting targets and implement corrective action plans.
- Assist with recruitment, training, succession planning, and team capability building.
Requirements
- Demonstrated background in managing multiple retail outlets or experience centres.
- At least 5 years of people management experience, including responsibility for Store Managers and frontline sales staff.
- Clear evidence of improving retail revenue and store-level performance.
- Hands-on experience with performance reviews, coaching, and employee development.
- Strong knowledge of retail KPIs including revenue, footfall, conversion rate, average order value, ticket size, and customer satisfaction.
- Practical experience in store operations, maintenance, audits, inventory control, and handling customer complaints or escalations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
Preferred Background
Applicants with experience in home decor, furniture, interiors, tiles, sanitaryware, building materials, consumer durables, electronics retail, lifestyle retail, or similar sectors will be preferred.
