Backend Development Intern

About the internship

Apna Softwares is looking for a Backend Development intern to contribute to the build-out of reliable, scalable software systems. In this role, you will work with modern web technologies and gain practical exposure to server-side engineering while collaborating closely with a product and development team.

The company offers a business software platform that helps organizations run daily operations more efficiently. Its solutions cover sales tracking, expense management, inventory control, customer relationship management, and ledger handling. It also provides QR-based menu and promotional tools designed to help businesses attract customers and strengthen their digital presence. The platform is tailored for different business types, including grocery shops, restaurants, barber shops, and hardware stores.

What you will do

• Build and improve backend services using Node.js and Express.js.
• Create and maintain REST APIs that connect frontend and backend systems smoothly.
• Work with MySQL to structure, store, query, and optimize application data.
• Coordinate with frontend developers on integration with React and Next.js applications.
• Write clean, readable, and maintainable code aligned with standard development practices.
• Test backend features thoroughly to help ensure dependable functionality and performance.
• Keep learning through guidance, real projects, and a fast-moving startup environment.

Requirements and preferred profile

Applicants should bring relevant interest and skills in backend development. The role expects familiarity with JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, React, REST APIs, TypeScript, Next.js, and MySQL. A stronger profile will also include practical exposure to Sequelize ORM, SQL optimization, authentication and authorization concepts such as JWT and RBAC, Git and GitHub workflows, Redis caching, and performance tuning.

Experience with AWS, Docker, or Linux server environments is considered an added advantage. Candidates with exposure to ERP, POS, inventory, billing, CRM, or other business applications are especially preferred. The internship also values independent execution, debugging ability, communication skills, and a willingness to work with ownership in a startup setting. Personal projects, internships, or live production experience will strengthen the application. Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice periods are preferred.

Eligibility

Only applicants who can take up a full-time, in-office internship in Noida may apply. Candidates must be able to begin between 26 July 2026 and 3 August 2026 and commit to the full 6-month duration. The opportunity is open to candidates with relevant skills and interest, including women looking to start or restart their careers. Computer Science Engineering students are also eligible.

Additional information

The internship includes a monthly stipend with both fixed and incentive components. The fixed pay ranges from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 per month, and the incentive component ranges from ₹500 to ₹5,000 per month.
