Role Overview

The Workday Consultant will support external clients across the full lifecycle of Workday HCM projects. The role involves guiding planning, design, testing, and deployment activities, while delivering high-quality consulting work across multiple projects at the same time.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with external clients and contribute through all phases of Workday project delivery, including planning, design, testing, and go-live for Workday HCM.
• Handle medium to large client assignments independently from initiation through completion, following Strada’s delivery standards and consulting approach.
• Track and manage work against scope, timelines, and budget, while coordinating with others when needed.
• Understand client requests, identify the underlying business need, provide expert advice, and suggest practical solution options.
• Explain prior project learnings, Workday best practices, and Strada’s point of view in a clear client-facing way.
• Guide junior colleagues by reviewing output and providing direction where needed.
• Contribute to internal initiatives that strengthen Strada’s brand, including domain groups, knowledge-sharing sessions, chats, and training.
• Help build the company’s presence in the Workday ecosystem through participation in product groups and discussions.
• Act as a subject matter expert in a functional or technical area.
• Develop deep knowledge in a specialty area such as Compensation, Benefits, or Financials.
• Create effort estimates for work ranging from small tasks to larger bodies of delivery.
• For CDS work, handle complex projects without supervision and/or lead Medium Enterprise projects or smaller Large Enterprise projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in a technical, business, or financial field.
• Workday certification is required if not already held, and the relevant certification must be maintained through ongoing recertification.
• Additional Workday certifications may also be needed depending on the role.
• Strong consulting ability to steer client and internal conversations toward agreed solutions quickly.
• Hands-on experience delivering complex business solutions while working under multiple deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize, structure, and manage increasingly complex work while maintaining quality and timeliness.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with frequent change.
• Proven ability to think both creatively and analytically in dynamic situations.
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability, including knowing when to escalate issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Demonstrated commitment to high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
• Initiative and curiosity to keep building skills beyond the core specialty area.
