About the Property
Raffles & Fairmont at the Red Sea is part of the ambitious Red Sea Project in Saudi Arabia and is designed as a pair of nature-led resorts. The destination includes 361 guest rooms, 11 unique dining experiences, an overwater restaurant overlooking the Red Sea and mangroves, and a spa. The property is envisioned as a refined, luxurious retreat that combines personalized service with a strong sustainability focus.
Role Overview
The Wellness Instructor will lead fitness and wellness experiences for guests, combining high service standards with professional training expertise. This role supports the resort’s wellness offering through personal sessions, group activities, guest engagement, and coordination with spa and recreation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Run daily fitness and wellness sessions, including one-to-one training, group workouts, and recreational activities, while following brand standards.
- Keep all gym and fitness equipment and areas clean, secure, and ready for use.
- Carry out regular equipment inspections and escalate maintenance issues without delay.
- Prepare fitness spaces before each session so they are hygienic, well-arranged, and welcoming.
- Assist with spa and wellness operations whenever needed to maintain smooth service delivery.
- Provide tailored fitness assessments, exercise plans, and wellness advice based on each guest’s needs and preferences.
- Deliver polished, engaging sessions that reflect luxury hospitality service expectations.
- Interact proactively with guests to improve their overall wellness experience during their stay.
- Handle guest questions, requests, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Support service recovery by helping resolve guest issues effectively and quickly.
- Coordinate closely with spa therapists, wellness specialists, and recreation colleagues to ensure a seamless guest journey.
- Join daily briefings to stay informed about guest profiles, VIP arrivals, and operational priorities.
- Share observations on guest preferences and wellness trends to help improve offerings.
- Assist with onboarding and internal knowledge transfer when required.
- Work with Front Office, Guest Relations, and Spa Reception to manage bookings and guest requirements.
- Communicate fitness schedules, appointments, and program information accurately.
- Promote wellness services and fitness activities throughout the resort.
- Help organize group classes, wellness events, and outdoor sessions.
- Encourage sales of personal training, wellness packages, and fitness-related add-ons to support revenue goals.
- Recommend relevant services and retail products where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions and follow booking and billing procedures.
- Contribute to departmental targets for revenue and guest satisfaction.
- Follow all health, safety, and fitness industry requirements consistently.
- Ensure guest safety, correct technique, and injury prevention during every session.
- Protect the confidentiality of guest information and wellness profiles.
- Maintain grooming and presentation standards that match the brand’s luxury image.
- Support sustainability and wellness initiatives aligned with the property’s values.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have 2 to 3 years of experience as a Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer, ideally in a luxury hospitality setting. A recognized qualification in fitness training, personal training, or a related field is required. Additional credentials in yoga, Pilates, or other wellness disciplines will be viewed favorably. Experience in a pre-opening environment is considered an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of fitness methods, training plans, and wellness practices, along with excellent communication and people skills. They must be able to motivate guests with different fitness levels, stay organized, manage time effectively, and collaborate well within a multidisciplinary team. A strong focus on safety and service quality is essential.
