Role Overview
Alarkan General Trading FZE is looking for a Warehouse Manager to oversee its JAFZA warehouse in Dubai. This leadership role reports to senior management and is intended for someone who can build a disciplined, high-performing warehouse operation that protects inventory accuracy, supports customer service, and drives productivity, safety, and continuous improvement.
The company is a major UAE distributor of genuine automotive spare parts, serving customers across the UAE, GCC, Africa, and other international markets. It is also investing heavily in digital and supply chain transformation through SAP S/4HANA, SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Syncron Inventory Optimisation, advanced analytics, and integrated systems.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will take full responsibility for the warehouse and distribution function, ensuring that day-to-day operations run efficiently while supporting commercial growth.
- Oversee receiving, put-away, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch, returns, and inventory control activities.
- Shape warehouse processes so they contribute to customer service targets and business growth plans.
- Design and refine operating workflows that improve accuracy and productivity.
- Develop and roll out standard operating procedures across all warehouse functions.
- Build a strong culture of ownership, accountability, and high performance.
- Own inventory accuracy and stock integrity across the operation.
- Run cycle counting programs in a consistent and effective manner.
- Investigate stock variances and close discrepancies quickly.
- Put controls in place to reduce inventory losses and errors.
- Keep inventory records accurate in SAP and other warehouse systems.
- Partner with procurement, finance, and sales teams to strengthen inventory outcomes.
- Create productivity metrics and reporting dashboards for warehouse performance.
- Track and improve pick rate, lines processed per employee, receiving output, dispatch output, inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, and service levels.
- Spot bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Lead improvement initiatives that raise efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Support warehouse operations through SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM, Syncron Inventory Optimisation, barcode tools, and scanning systems.
- Maintain system discipline, process compliance, data accuracy, and digital integration standards.
- Participate in transformation projects and process enhancement efforts.
- Recruit, coach, develop, and manage warehouse staff.
- Set clear expectations and accountability measures for the team.
- Conduct performance reviews, development discussions, and succession planning for key roles.
- Promote a positive team culture aligned with Alarkan’s values.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and internal company policies.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and well-kept working environment.
- Carry out safety inspections and audits on a regular basis.
- Lead incident investigations and implement preventive actions.
- Work with sales and customer service teams to deliver strong service outcomes.
- Handle urgent customer requests and priority orders effectively.
- Ensure accurate dispatch and on-time delivery performance.
- Balance efficiency goals with customer satisfaction requirements.
Performance Measures
Success in this role will be evaluated using measures such as inventory accuracy, reduction in stock adjustments, order fulfilment accuracy, on-time dispatch, picks per hour, labour productivity, warehouse cost efficiency, cycle count compliance, safety performance, employee engagement and retention, customer service levels, and reserved stock delivery performance.
Requirements
- You should bring at least 8 to 10 years of warehouse management experience.
- Experience in automotive spare parts distribution or another fast-moving parts environment is required.
- You must have previously led medium to large warehouse teams.
- A solid grasp of inventory management principles is essential.
- Experience using ERP and warehouse management systems is needed.
- You should have a proven track record of improving warehouse productivity and inventory accuracy.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability are important.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills are expected.
- You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-driven setting.
- Automotive OEM or aftermarket exposure is preferred.
- SAP S/4HANA experience is preferred.
- SAP EWM experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory optimisation and planning is preferred.
- Experience with continuous improvement or Lean methods is preferred.
- GCC or UAE market exposure is preferred.
