What you will be responsible for

You will lead the showroom’s visual merchandising efforts from start to finish, including floor sets, resets, and product introductions. Your work will connect visual presentation with business objectives, sales insights, and customer shopping behavior.

This position also involves managing visual projects with clear timelines, partnering with the Store Leader on performance and inventory strategy, and maintaining a showroom environment that reflects the brand and inspires customers.

In addition, you will support and coach Design Associates on presentation standards, product storytelling, and customer engagement. A strong focus on operational discipline, inventory movement, and attention to detail is also essential.

Store hours:
Monday to Friday: 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Working schedule:
Tuesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday and Friday: 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Working hours may vary during the year, so flexibility is important. Schedules are built for an entire month and shared several weeks in advance to help employees plan around other priorities.

Experience and qualification requirements

You should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in visual merchandising, inventory management, customer experience, and furniture or design-oriented retail. A strong visual sense, grounded understanding of color theory, and an emphasis on impact rather than perfection are important.

The role also requires a genuine interest in design and the Room & Board brand, plus the ability to create spaces using color, texture, scale, and material combinations that are both beautiful and commercially effective.

Experience in consultative retail sales, the ability to plan and execute visual projects independently, and the confidence to collaborate across teams are also expected. Familiarity with digital tools is needed, and working knowledge of floor planning software such as Floorplanner is preferred.

Final candidates must be able to complete a pre-employment physical to confirm they can safely perform the work.

Compensation and benefits

The salary for this position is between $75,000 and $85,000, depending on experience. In addition to pay, the company offers benefits that support overall well-being, including three weeks of paid vacation, a generous 401(k) match, and profit sharing.
