This position is for a Tea Taster working in Research & Development, with a focus on instant premixes and functional beverages. Based in Coimbatore, the role is full-time and involves combining sensory expertise with hands-on laboratory work to help develop and evaluate new beverage formulations.

What you will do

  • Carry out bench-scale trials for instant premixes, flavoured teas, herbal infusions, and functional beverage concepts.
  • Work with raw ingredients such as flavour powders, sweetening agents, stabilizers, herbal extracts, excipients, and functional actives.
  • Measure, combine, dissolve, and disperse ingredients accurately according to formulation plans.
  • Assess sensory characteristics including flavour, fragrance, colour, clarity, mouthfeel, and how well the product dissolves.
  • Keep detailed records such as formulation sheets, batch documentation, trial logs, and sample tracking information.
  • Assist with stability testing by observing moisture content, flow properties, and shelf-life performance over time.
  • Follow laboratory hygiene, safety, and GLP requirements at all times.
  • Work closely with Production during scale-up work and coordinate with Quality Assurance for analytical checks and validation support.

Skills and knowledge needed

  • Working knowledge of instant premix and beverage formulation basics.
  • Familiarity with sweeteners, stabilizers, and herbal extracts.
  • Practical lab skills in weighing, blending, and preparing samples.
  • Comfort using documentation systems, batch records, and MS Excel.
