Overview

This is a 12-month contract opportunity for a Supply Chain Analyst with a Canadian premium food manufacturer known for quality ingredients and clean-label innovation. The role is based in Brampton, Ontario, and requires five days a week in the office. It sits within a small, collaborative Finance and Supply Chain team supporting both retail and foodservice channels.

The position is highly execution-focused and plays a key part in keeping production on track by aligning schedules, materials, and inbound supply on a daily basis. The team is also working through a coverage gap and redefining how inbound supply chain responsibilities are split, so the role offers real ownership, variety, and room to contribute to process improvement, including ERP upgrades.

Employment type: Contract

Duration: 12 months

Compensation: 40-50/hr

Location: Brampton, ON

Work arrangement: On-site, 5 days in office

Industry: Food Manufacturing / CPG

Position type: Existing vacancy

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the weekly production schedule across several manufacturing lines, revising it daily based on demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Oversee inventory of bulk inputs such as flour and make sure supply remains uninterrupted during an active production schedule, including frequent peak-period deliveries.
  • Arrange stock movement between sites, ensuring product is transferred from distribution to production and staged ahead of need.
  • Track actual production against plan and escalate or resolve issues such as equipment downtime, schedule changes, and shift adjustments.
  • Keep raw material lead times current in MRP files and follow up with suppliers whenever timing changes arise.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders for raw materials with suppliers in both Canada and the U.S. using Infor ERP.
  • Coordinate inbound U.S. shipments with third-party carriers, including pickup scheduling and delivery to the warehouse.
  • Monitor and expedite inbound freight from domestic and international sources when required.
  • Review supplier performance against delivery and quality expectations and flag risks early.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, lead times, and product cost data in the ERP system.
  • Drive PO confirmation follow-up until all orders are confirmed.
  • Work closely with Operations, QA, and Finance on supply chain projects, cost savings, and day-to-day issue resolution.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including participation in ERP enhancements.
  • Provide backup support in adjacent operational areas as needed within a lean team structure.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong practical background in either production planning or procurement; the exact fit may depend on the candidate’s core strengths.

  • Experience working with suppliers in Canada and the U.S., including inbound shipment coordination.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and supplier-facing discussions.
  • Adaptability and curiosity, with a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond a narrow job description when needed.
  • Ability to commit to the full contract term and work on-site in Brampton five days per week.
