Overview
This is a permanent, full-time payroll role based in Llanelli. The position sits within a business that is seeking a dependable payroll professional to take ownership of the payroll function and ensure every cycle is completed accurately and on time. It is well suited to someone who enjoys structured work, close attention to detail and being the go-to person for payroll matters.
The salary for the role is £38,000 to £40,000 per year.
Role Summary
You will be responsible for running weekly and monthly payroll processes from beginning to end, making sure all calculations, reporting and records are handled in line with UK payroll requirements. The role involves working across payroll compliance, statutory payments, pensions, RTI submissions and year-end duties, while keeping data secure and up to date.
You will also act as the main contact for payroll queries and collaborate regularly with Finance, HR and operational colleagues to keep payroll running smoothly.
Key Duties
- Manage weekly and monthly payroll cycles from start to finish.
- Process PAYE, NIC, pensions and statutory payments correctly.
- Submit RTI returns and complete year-end payroll reporting.
- Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant payroll records.
- Respond to payroll questions and act as the main point of contact for payroll-related issues.
- Work closely with Finance, HR and operational teams to support smooth payroll delivery.
Skills and Experience
The employer is looking for a highly organised and precise payroll professional with strong hands-on capability. Confidence using Sage Payroll and Excel is important, along with a solid working knowledge of UK payroll legislation. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, partnering with other departments and identifying ways to improve payroll controls and processes.
Preferred Background
CIPP training would be an advantage, but candidates who are qualified by experience and bring broad industry payroll knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
