About the company
Naylor Love is a long-established, Kiwi-owned commercial construction business that has been operating since 1910. With more than 900 employees across 100+ projects nationwide, the company is recognised for delivering high-quality construction outcomes and for building a workplace centred on development, collaboration, and strong values.
The organisation works on notable projects throughout Aotearoa and places emphasis on creating a supportive environment where people can grow their careers while contributing to meaningful builds.
About the role
An opportunity is available for an experienced Site Manager to join the Wellington team and work on a project in Whanganui. The role suits someone who has managed site operations on large New Zealand projects, ideally with a main contractor background, and who is confident leading construction delivery from start through to completion.
You will be responsible for driving safe, efficient, and successful project outcomes while fostering a collaborative team culture. The role also requires a strong commitment to health and safety and to maintaining a zero-harm workplace.
What you will be doing
The successful candidate will oversee site activity across the construction phase, coordinate trade teams, and support the delivery of finishing and fit-out work for commercial environments. Projects may include office fit-outs, retail spaces, hospitality venues, and multi-unit developments, where accuracy, timing, budget control, and consistency matter.
Ownership of project outcomes is a key part of the role, along with the ability to motivate others, solve problems effectively, and keep work moving in a structured and professional way.
Skills and experience required
Applicants should bring practical site management experience, along with the ability to handle complex construction work, lead teams, and communicate well with a range of stakeholders. Strong organisational ability, confidence with digital tools, and readiness to travel between sites are also important.
Additional information
The successful applicant must be able to work in New Zealand as a resident or current work visa holder. A pre-employment medical questionnaire and drug screening will be required before employment begins.
This position is based in Whanganui and is part of the Wellington Regional Office group.
Why join
In addition to a competitive salary, the role comes with a range of benefits designed to support wellbeing, family, community involvement, and professional growth.
Naylor Love also notes its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and providing opportunities for people to thrive within the business.
