Overview
This role is for an experienced Senior or Staff CPU Design Verification Engineer based in Cork, Ireland. You will support the design and performance validation of advanced custom CPUs built for server-class systems. The position is suited to someone who enjoys working on high-end semiconductor technology that contributes to digital transformation and next-generation computing experiences.

Responsibilities
- Bring hands-on expertise in one or more CPU architecture areas, including fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming, execution units, SIMD, load/store, MMU, caches, and retirement.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the RISC-V ISA along with core and subsystem microarchitecture.
- Work closely with design and performance teams to create test scenarios and confirm new functionality.
- Study and verify performance behavior across simulation and emulation environments.
- Create tools for CPU performance analysis.
- Execute benchmarks and workload testing under different operating conditions to make sure performance is optimal.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in CPU design and verification.
- Deep understanding of CPU architecture and microarchitecture.
- Prior experience in an RTL simulation environment.
- Comfort with Verilog, C, C++, and scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
- Familiarity with standard performance benchmarks and workload testing.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability, with the confidence to validate and defend your conclusions.
