Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment)

Our client, an EPC organization in Qatar, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a focus on rotating equipment. The role sits within the energy, process, and infrastructure space and is geared toward strengthening plant reliability, equipment integrity, and leak management support.

Job purpose

This position is centered on applying specialist knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and seals to improve reliability and address operational issues across plant assets.

Key responsibilities

• Track the condition and operating performance of rotating machinery and keep equipment integrity under control.
• Create and refine maintenance approaches for pumps, compressors, and related rotating assets.
• Diagnose and resolve problems linked to vibration, lubrication, sealing, and alignment.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis efforts and help implement corrective actions after failures.
• Assess vendor documentation and verify that it meets API requirements and other applicable standards.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s qualification in mechanical engineering is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering within the oil and gas sector is expected.
• Applicants should have solid knowledge of pumps, compressors, gas turbines, and associated equipment systems.
• Working familiarity with API codes and related technical standards is necessary.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and reliability engineering knowledge are important for this role.
