Overview
This opportunity is for a seasoned Senior Assortment Planner to join a global demand planning function in Beaverton, Oregon. The role is set up as a 9-month contract and follows a hybrid schedule: on-site from Monday through Thursday, with work from home on Fridays.
The position is suited to planning professionals who are comfortable working in a highly analytical environment and collaborating with teams across merchandising, finance, sales, product, and supply chain. The core focus is to shape assortment strategy, forecast demand, plan inventory, and support financial planning decisions that contribute to profitable, consumer-led growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design seasonal assortment plans and prepare monthly forecasts at the style and color level.
- Develop forecasts for demand, inventory, sales, and margin using statistical and analytical methods.
- Construct bottom-up assortment plans that support financial goals and inventory targets.
- Review business trends, forecast differences, and the factors influencing performance.
- Share planning recommendations, key risks, opportunities, and strategy proposals with leadership.
- Work closely with merchandising, finance, supply planning, marketplace planning, and product partners.
- Assist with in-season business improvements by turning data into practical actions.
- Shape assortment and inventory approaches that stay consumer-focused while improving profitability.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in assortment planning, merchandise planning, demand planning, inventory planning, or a similar discipline.
- Solid knowledge of financial planning, product planning, and inventory control.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical thinking, forecasting ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
Preferred Experience
- Background in retail, apparel, footwear, consumer goods, or sporting goods is an advantage.
- Familiarity with statistical forecasting techniques is preferred.
- Experience with advanced analytics or data science-based planning methods is a plus.
Additional Information
This is a 9-month contract position based in Beaverton, OR. The work arrangement is hybrid, with on-site presence required Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays.
