Role overview
This position is for a Senior Analyst II in Software Engineering based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role centers on building, maintaining, and improving important software components while working closely with experienced engineers and the wider development team.
What you'll do
- Partner with the software development team to plan, build, code, and validate software solutions, with emphasis on key system components.
- Coordinate with senior colleagues to deliver work on time and in line with project expectations, while contributing to design and code review discussions.
- Help investigate and solve software problems, including difficult technical issues that require deeper analysis.
- Support the creation and maintenance of software requirements and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot and fix production defects, working with senior engineers and support teams to restore functionality.
- Keep up with new technologies and industry practices, and suggest practical improvements or innovative approaches.
- Support junior team members by sharing knowledge, coaching where needed, and helping build team capability.
- Take responsibility for complex technical work and contribute to architectural choices.
Required background
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, or an equivalent mix of education and hands-on experience.
- About 4 or more years of relevant industry experience, including at least 1 year in a comparable software engineering role.
- Capability in one or more programming languages and common development methodologies.
- Experience writing, debugging, and maintaining complex software components.
- Understanding of software development practices and delivery methods.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to demanding technical assignments.
Additional qualifications
- A higher degree in a related area is considered an advantage.
- Professional certifications or relevant training are also beneficial.
