Overview
Canadian Blood Services is hiring a regular full-time Scheduler/Timekeeper to support the Collections Operations East team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In this role, you will help coordinate staffing coverage, build and update work schedules, and carry out timekeeping tasks that support day-to-day operations in line with organizational policies.
The team supports blood collection activities that help ensure safe products for patients. This position is part of a collaborative and caring environment focused on reliability, accuracy, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with managers and supervisors to assess staffing needs and align coverage with operational demands.
- Create, adjust, and maintain schedules in accordance with collective agreement rules.
- Arrange coverage for sick calls and maintain department vacation calendars.
- Handle timekeeping and payroll-related tasks for Supply Chain employees.
- Keep records accurate and up to date.
- Take on additional duties as needed.
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- At least 3 years of scheduling experience in a similar role, ideally in a regulated environment.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Comfort using computers, with preference for experience on Windows and Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to collect, review, and interpret information using sound reasoning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage several priorities in a busy setting.
- Strict respect for employee confidentiality.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- SAP experience is considered an advantage.
Schedule
The regular schedule is Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 14:00, with rotational Saturdays and statutory holidays shared across the team.
