Role overview
A client in Melbourne’s southeast is looking for an immediately available Sales Representative to support a busy sales and customer engagement operation. This position suits someone who enjoys fast-moving customer conversations, works well within defined processes, and is motivated by converting enquiries into commercial results.
The business handles a consistent stream of inbound interest through web, chat, phone, and other digital touchpoints. In this role, you will respond quickly, assess lead quality, draft simple quotations, and pass well-documented information to the broader sales team. You will often serve as the first contact for customers and help influence revenue, pipeline quality, and the overall experience for each enquiry.
Key duties
- Handle incoming enquiries quickly across several communication channels.
- Assess lead fit, understand buying intent, and move opportunities through the CRM.
- Put together clear, accurate budgetary quotes.
- Prepare complete and well-organised handovers for the sales team.
- Carry out follow-ups, nurture early opportunities, and assist with light outbound research.
- Keep CRM records accurate and current, and contribute ideas that improve processes.
Required background
The ideal candidate will have a background in Inside Sales, Sales Support, or Commercial Operations. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, are important, along with experience using a CRM platform; Salesforce is considered an advantage. You should be able to manage a high volume of enquiries while staying accurate, organised, and disciplined. A commercially minded approach and eagerness to learn are also important.
Preferred experience
- Previous exposure to industrial, engineering, or other B2B environments.
- Any experience with quoting processes.
- Familiarity with aftermarket or service-led sales cycles.
Application notes
Applicants are asked to provide a resume and cover letter that explain their relevant experience and why they are suitable for the role. The business is seeking someone who can start immediately.
