Role overview
This position supports procurement, purchasing, and quality assurance activities at a luxury hotel property in Mumbai. The role focuses on handling documents, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring compliance with food safety, handling, and internal quality standards.
Core responsibilities
- Prepare, sort, and circulate important paperwork and related information to the right team members.
- Keep current on safety programs and the regulatory requirements relevant to the assigned area, including food and retail.
- Follow food safety and handling rules in all food-related areas.
- Maintain orderly records so reports, invoices, and related documents are properly stored and easy to retrieve.
- Work out inventory, order, and cost figures as needed.
- Carry out inventory checks to understand stock levels and replenishment needs.
- Inform the manager or supervisor when stock falls below the required level.
- Handle vendor delivery problems and manage the return process when necessary.
- Check, receive, and track incoming stock accurately.
- Match shipping invoices with receiving documents and resolve mismatches.
- Accept, unload, and process deliveries.
- Monitor PAR levels for food items to keep supplies at the right level.
- Reject items that are damaged, unsuitable, or incorrect.
- Support management with training, scheduling, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of employees.
- Set a positive example for other team members and support service continuity.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Follow company policies, maintain a professional appearance, and protect confidential information and company property.
- Assist colleagues when needed to maintain service levels and coverage.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Build respectful working relationships and contribute to shared team goals.
- Read and verify information in different formats, including small print.
- Stand, sit, or walk for long periods and carry out physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Use fine motor skills to handle objects of different shapes and sizes.
- Move through narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, and stair or ramp areas as required.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- No license or certification is required.
Work details
This is a full-time, non-management role based onsite in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The position is not remote.
