Role overview
The Procurement Specialist will lead planning and delivery of category-based procurement strategies, manage supplier partnerships, negotiate and finalise contracts, and keep contract execution on track. The position is focused on improving cost efficiency, protecting supply continuity, and supporting sustainability across the full procurement cycle, from sourcing through to implementation and compliance.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s qualification in Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of experience working in procurement or a similar function is needed.
- Strong understanding of procurement methods, workflows, and best practices is expected.
- Hands-on experience in managing suppliers and negotiating contracts is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools is needed.
- The role calls for strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and strategic thinking.
Key responsibilities
- Run competitive sourcing exercises that align with category plans.
- Convert category strategies into practical sourcing and procurement actions.
- Review market movements and supplier capabilities to spot risks and opportunities.
- Prepare, negotiate, and roll out supplier agreements based on business needs.
- Oversee the contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and compliance checks.
- Track supplier performance against agreed KPIs and resolve performance gaps.
- Develop and sustain productive supplier relationships to support uninterrupted supply.
- Carry out supplier reviews and contribute to supplier development efforts.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure procurement activity supports business priorities.
- Maintain compliance with procurement policies, governance requirements, and approved processes.
- Keep procurement documentation accurate and assist with audit and compliance requests.
