Role overview
Amazon is hiring a Procurement Manager to support its Operations and Trans teams in Bengaluru. The position is focused on managing indirect sourcing and service procurement in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly. The ideal person is commercially sharp, energetic, highly result-driven, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and vendor partners.
The role includes ownership of sourcing activities for services and supply chain-related needs, with a strong emphasis on communication, negotiation, coordination, and timely execution. The business handles large-scale customer operations and requires someone who can help build scalable processes while maintaining supplier performance and commercial discipline.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and narrow down potential suppliers for the assigned category, including Fabric Based Packaging and Logistics Carrier (3P) requirements for ASSPL, ATSPL, ARIPL, and other business units.
- Run the RFP process by defining engagement terms and organizing pre-bid discussions.
- Work through commercial and contractual terms to complete negotiations.
- Finalize contracts and keep proper records for future use and reference.
- Collaborate with suppliers to design and improve packaging solutions, review samples, check quality, and ensure delivery timelines are met.
- Take ownership of supplier relationships and represent Amazon clearly in supplier discussions.
- Track monthly spending patterns and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Manage annual spend of approximately INR 1800 MM efficiently.
- Handle planning and execution for Trans-Consumables across AMZL and EDSP stations.
- Coordinate with delivery station operations teams and resolve site-level issues and escalations.
- Build scalable supply chain processes for trans consumables.
- Oversee day-to-day shift management.
- Maintain inventory control and ensure daily cycle counts are completed.
- Trigger timely material reordering.
- Ensure receipts are updated in the system without delay.
- Make sure vendor payments are processed on time and without delays.
- Manage the full P2P cycle.
Requirements
- Graduation is required, along with 1 to 3 years of experience in supply chain management.
- At least 2 years of experience in transportation and supply chain work is preferred as a basic qualification.
- Strong communication and negotiation ability are essential.
- Candidate should be able to manage several stakeholders and vendor partners at once.
- Experience working in a high-speed environment with shifting priorities is important.
- Good people management capability is needed.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Amazon systems or comparable tools is expected.
- A self-driven attitude with the ability to encourage and guide associates is important.
- A master’s degree is listed as a preferred qualification.
