Role Summary

This opportunity is for a qualified Procurement / Contract Specialist to support a proposed assignment in Uzbekistan. The position will contribute to procurement and contract management for civil works under projects funded by international development institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee procurement activities for civil works in line with international procurement rules.
  • Support contract administration while ensuring adherence to FIDIC and/or World Bank standards.
  • Help prepare tender documentation, evaluate submissions, and support contract award processes.
  • Track procurement progress and maintain transparency, efficiency, and compliance throughout the process.
  • Liaise with technical teams, clients, and contractors on procurement-related matters.
  • Assist with contract management tasks during the project delivery phase.
  • Compile procurement reports, supporting documents, and other required submissions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s qualification in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline is required, along with a professional procurement certification.
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience is needed, including a minimum of 5 years in civil works procurement and contract management.
  • Prior exposure to World Bank or comparable multilateral development bank-funded assignments is necessary, along with knowledge of procurement regulations and processes.
  • Applicants should have worked on at least two comparable projects in a procurement or contract-focused capacity.
  • Experience on regional projects in Central Asia will be considered an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of FIDIC and/or World Bank procurement frameworks is expected.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential; ability in local languages is advantageous.
