Role Overview

This opening is for a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to join a walk-in hiring drive in Bengaluru. The position calls for strong hands-on experience in machine design and R&D-oriented design work, with the ability to independently lead a project from concept through release.

Experience and Notice Period

Candidates should bring 5 to 12 years of relevant experience. The expected notice period is below 15 days.

Education

A B.E. or M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required. A background in Mechatronics is also acceptable for eligibility.

Key Technical Work

The role involves selecting suitable materials, understanding machining and fabrication methods, and accounting for post-processing steps. The engineer must be comfortable working out design calculations for structural and load requirements and choosing the right market-available OEM components and accessories such as linear guides, motors, gearboxes, and bearings.

Additional requirements include strong capability in sheet metal design, use of sheet metal tools where needed, preparation of manufacturing drawings, and definition of tolerances using GD&T. Experience with UG-NX is essential, along with knowledge of structural analysis and modern manufacturing methods.

Industry Preference

A background in Special Purpose Machine development is mandatory. Experience in semiconductor-related work is considered a plus.

Professional Skills

The candidate should also bring solid presentation and negotiation abilities, along with the capacity to coordinate design decisions through to final delivery.
