Role overview
Airswift is supporting a national operator in Qatar to hire a Management System Analyst for a long-term contract assignment. The role is based onsite in Doha and follows a residential work arrangement. The intended start is as soon as possible, typically within a one-month notice period.
Work schedule
The position runs on a five-day workweek, with daily hours ranging from 8 to 10, or adjusted according to project needs.
Core responsibilities
- Support the client’s senior QHSE management system analyst in defining annual HSE objectives and tracking progress toward those goals.
- Check permit requirements for the materials warehouse and ensure workers applying for permits receive the necessary qualification training.
- Record and follow up on incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare and circulate safety alerts and lessons learned.
- Serve as the department focal point for SMART objectives, helping define realistic targets and securing management approval.
- Carry out inspections of warehouses and offices across locations such as Dukhan, Mesaieed, and RLC, and join site HSE inspections with action tracking until closure.
- Organize department HSE tours and related follow-up activities.
- Prepare, review, and update the department risk register.
- Prepare, review, and update the legal obligations register.
- Develop and periodically revise the department training matrix to reflect new requirements.
- Run safety campaigns covering topics such as heat stress, chemical handling, hot work, working at height, lifting operations, and Life-Saving Rules materials.
- Oversee chemical handling, storage, and transport practices.
- Inspect chemical storage and handling areas and implement safer transport practices for chemicals.
- Apply MSDS requirements and safe work procedures in the warehouse, including COSHH training.
- Address the transportation and storage of construction materials with appropriate safety controls.
- Put safe lifting measures in place for storage and transportation activities.
- Implement the client-approved plan for heavy lifts.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring activities such as noise, CO2 emissions, and illumination measurements.
- Manage waste handling activities, including storage, segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and contractor/vendor coordination for lawful disposal.
- Support the senior QHSE analyst in closing corrective actions from internal and external HSE audits.
- Prepare, review, and implement HSE plans, procedures, and method statements.
- Organize and conduct site HSE audits, produce reports, and track actions through closure.
- Oversee fire and safety checks, including periodic inspection of firefighting systems and coordination with third-party vendors for testing and calibration.
- Review and assess HSE documents associated with contracts.
Additional information
This is a long-term contract role with a focus on HSE and management system support in an industrial and warehouse environment. The work is based in Qatar Onshore / Doha HQ.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, along with a Diploma in Industrial Safety or an equivalent qualification from a recognized body. A NEBOSH certificate is also required.
Experience
The role calls for at least 10 years of experience in supply chain, warehouse, or material handling environments, including exposure to the Oil & Gas sector.
Knowledge and skills
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in QHSE audits, inspections, HSE data analysis, and reporting.
